My last and most favorite House in the Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice And Fire series, HOUSE TARGARYEN! Seriously, nothing is more fascinating than this house. Daenerys Targaryen is my favorite character, one of my faves of all time. So I had to do this House justice.
I created this set with a young dragon warrior princess in mind. Only a Balmain dress could fit the girl I had in mind. The armor-like bodice paired with the black skirt was so crucial for this look. Paired it with these jeweled sandals from Bergdorf is suited for a princess living in the glow of a warm weather area like Meereen or Dorne or King’s Landing.
I kept this look simple and free of too many coverings. The crown was a perfect accent to this look because the Targaryens are natural regents. Everything is jeweled and gold to fit in with a conquering Targaryen princess.
Fire & Blood are the words of the Targaryen House and it’s how they win their battles and why they are remembered throughout history.

Ahhhh down to the second to last set!
Without the name, you probably guessed this was House Lannister. I used Cersei as my base for creating a wonderfully dramatic set for any modern woman in House Lannister, the Lionesses I call them.
This Ellie Saab gown is the centerpiece of this bright, lux set. It represents the passion and haughtiness that the Lannisters tend to wear on their sleeve for the world to see. I paired it with a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti booties & a lionhead embellished bracelet to tie the theme together. The croc tote is a wink to the “skinning” of the enemy that Lannisters tend to do.
I thought this set really captures the demeanor of a woman who wants the illusion of being in control to become a reality. She doesn’t take no for an answer because she’s never had to her whole life. She’s wealthy and cruel but the world bends to her because that’s what they’re used to. A true queen, even if she’s not royal at all.

Next up we have the House Tully set! I had fun with this set because it seems so patriotic and American to me. The navy blue crop top with the red midi skirt really looked to me like the banner the Tullys would carry into battle. The Tully colors are vibrant and soothing at the same time, kind of like the bubbling of a river. “Family, Duty, Honor” are the Tully words which to me screams conservative which is why the outfit I put together is chic but modest. No exposed tummy or breasts for this Tully girl.
As far as the accessories go, the Dorothy Perkins clutch and fish bone earrings are an obvious wink to the Tully sigil which is a fish! Duh. The peeptoe Giuseppe Zanotti heels are a perfect cherry on top of this adorable sundae. The modern Tully girl that would wear this would be a stubborn but loyal girl who would do anything for family. Bright red hair and big blue eyes 🙂

I know this is a random house to do, but I feel like the two Mormonts we see in the books/show are very integral to some important storylines, ie. Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen. So I think they warranted a feature in my set series.
I chose these pieces for House Mormont because their sigil is a bear & their words are “Here We Stand.” They’re stout, stubborn, strong, like grizzly bears. That’s where the fur parka from boohoo.com comes in. Has that touch of bear but still stylish with the brown, weathered leather boots from zappos.com. Green, blue & gold were essential for this look because it invoked that rough & tough nature vibe that House Mormont gives off.

House Baratheon was a little tough for me to dress. But then I thought of it from a rugged monarch perspective rather than the entire House and came up with a regal but edgy look for a young Baratheon queen. I chose the floral Alexander McQueen dress because I thought it looked the most “queenly” and paired it with crown earrings and a stag ring to rep the House symbol. The Moschino buckle booties were a great find and felt very appropriate for this outfit. They’re a strong, statement-making shoe and all that we know about Baratheons are how much they love to talk. House Baratheon is a headstrong, stubborn family and I felt that this look really repped that. What do you guys think?
So I did this series on Polyvore of sets inspired by each House from A Song of Ice and Fire, as many of you know: Game of Thrones. Each set was inspired by region, culture, environment & people of each House.
With House Stark, I love their colors, their words, their strength so leather & studs were important for this look. The embroidered dress is very warrior-princess-like with shimmery gray tights that reflect the Stark banner. Obviously a wolf necklace to tie it all together. I was thinking about adding a fur coat but I really wanted the dress to be the centerpiece because its very bold & something I could see Arya or Lyanna Stark wearing. The very definition of a Stark woman I think. Something Sansa is inching closer and closer to.

I love Thursdays. Thursdays are fun again. Because A) I get paid every Thursday B) Scandal & HTGAWM are on back to back C) which means I watch with Tempestt every week D) which means I drink wine every week E) and also every other Thursday we have family dinners. So basically Thursdays are the beginnings of my weekend. Especially since we’re not expected to stay all day on Fridays if we don’t have pressing matters to attend to. My job is awesome. My life is awesome. Everything is looking up. Yeah my money situation is precarious but luckily I have a wonderful fiance who supports me.
